Love and sorrow is felt by all living creatures.
Here a swallow lies fatally injured after being hit by a car as she swooped low across the road...
Her mate brings her food and attends to her with love and compassion...
He brings her food again, but finds her dead. He tries to move her...
Aware that his sweetheart is dead, he cries out...
Finally, realising that she will never return to him, he stands beside her body in sorrow...

The grief and sorrow felt by this feathered being carries as much import and significance as grief or sorrow felt by any other being....we are all the same...turning away from this truth is destroying all of us.
